Graysea is a four-piece mathcore band from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Utilizing harsh, metallic sounds and marrying them to brutally emo undertones, they have hand-crafted a style that nods its head to influences like Every Time I Die, Knocked Loose, Kaonashi, Greyhaven, and more.
The dichotomy of their sound creates a remarkable dynamic, balancing ups and downs both emotionally and sonically. Their unique blend of heavy-hitting instrumentals and attention-grabbing vocals give their music a leg up from many others. It is technical, masterful, incredibly well-balanced, and have landed them opportunities with many huge names within the community.
Their debut EP, Under The Surface, was mixed and mastered by Will Putney and released in April of 2022. Following a monthly single release model for it, they had a considerable amount of excitement brewing for the release. After it was unleashed, the band continued working on writing a follow-up, and focused on playing shows in the meantime. Graysea’s efforts culminated in a sold out performance at Milwaukee’s X-Ray Arcade with Misery Signals, Comeback Kid, and END in July of 2022. Their engagement keeps growing, and following their current trajectory, sold out shows will not be a rare thing for them in the coming years.
The outfit released their second EP in April of 2023 called Weight In The Water, and it is prefaced with another monthly single and music video release schedule. This rollout has garnered attention from streaming services, with songs being placed throughout Spotify editorial playlists like All New Metal and New Blood. Songs like “Abandon Meant” and “Less Than Three <3” are already reaching new people, and “Save Face”, featuring Aaron Gillespie of Underoath, is definitely going to continue doing the same. It shows that as time goes on, Graysea keeps growing, and more and more people are rightfully taking note.
In May of 2024, Graysea’s successful Weight In The Water campaign paved the way for their biggest show yet - opening a nearly sold out show for Better Lovers, SeeYouSpaceCowboy, Foreign Hands, and Greyhaven at Madison, WI’s Majestic Theatre.
